Taken up at the Vipassana Meditation Centre. Dropped a mate of mine up there to do the 10 day retreat. Such a powerful place. Walking on the balcony, looking above the world, with patches of light, shining in.

Biker Dude eats Burrito

Biker dude was just hangin' out really enjoying his Burrito. What I didn't know is that bikers eat a lot of spicy food. I thought that would have been on pretty plain stable/carby diets, but instead they eat lots of spices. So he said of the bike shop he worked in. Of course this being a SF bike shop, it was a bike co-op, co owned and run. I love SF :)

This is me. In my hotel room, starting to absorb what I've just completed. This is me after flying half way around the world to stare at blank walks for 7 weeks, with slow walking, and lots and lots of silence. As much as I could try write about what was going on behind that photo, I'll never get there. Simply, that's me.

Jack is one of the leading speakers on Buddhist Psychology. He's a renowned speaker on the Western mind, and is now leading the way in bridging the gap between the Eastern and Western. An amazing man to listen to over the internet, even more so in real life. I'm quite happy with how this photo 'looks', it really captures it.

Not only was I given the luxury of a private room, but also a private sink with mirror. I was able to shave in light, without twisting my body in some weird angle, AND it's pretty.

Leaving SFZC, I decided to find a hotel close enough by so I could get back again, to do the night-time sits sometimes. Days of searching turned up Hotel Tropicana. Using my local contact I confirmed it was a decent-ish area and booked.

What a hotel.

The photo here is of the curtain of my room, it's glorious. The whole hotel is almost Kitsch, but is subtle enough to keep it on the side of cool. Expect to see a few more coming up...

Yesterday I took part in the local Burma Peace Rally. A supportive afternoon, with a good turn out and media coverage. The photo on the stake is of Aung San Suu Kyi, leader of the nonviolent movement for human rights and democracy in Burma (Myanmar), and Nobel laureate.
